2018 Live Your Dream Award recipient: Tiffany Reynolds

On April 17, 2018, Soroptimist International of The Conejo was proud to present a $1500 cash grant award to Our “Live Your Dream Award” recipient for 2018: Tiffany Reynolds.

Tiffany is a single mother of four children ranging in age from 5 to 19.

She broke free from a domestic violent relationship in 2014 where she found herself a typical battered woman.  While working part time to pay for school, her education has provided her with the ability to have achievable dreams and goals!  She is proud that she has become a strong, independent woman who escaped an abusive relationship and has overcome the challenges of being a single mom.  She is a survivor and has become an educationally empowered woman.

She completed her Associate of Arts Degree and is currently studying at California State University Channel Islands to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, with only 6 classes to go.   In addition to attending classes, she works 30 plus hours a week at a severe special education class helping children with special needs learn and grow in an educational setting.  At her church she runs a 12-step ministry where she helps people improve their lives and circumstances.  It is her desire that obtaining her Bachelor degree will provide her with an opportunity to help people make positive changes and open more employment options.

The Live Your Dream Awards program is Soroptimist’s signature program. The Live Your Dream program assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.  It is given each year to a woman, head of household, who shows determination to improve her life and that of her family through vocational or traditional training or education.
