How Contributions Are Used

For nearly 100 years, Soroptimist has been improving the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. Because of the unique membership structure of Soroptimist, while dues pay for member services, governance, and administration, your charitable contributions are used for fundraising and program expenses.

Consider contributing today to help fund our life-changing global Dream Programs. Your generosity empowers women and girls throughout the world to achieve their dreams of a better life.

Soroptimist is a volunteer organization that provides women with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment and gives them the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams.

MISSION: Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

VISION: Women and girls have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential and live their dreams.

Soroptimist International of Conejo Valley awarded cash grants to three local Conejo Valley women, in April 2021.  Each woman is trying to improve her life through education or training while being the financial head of household and is in need of a little help.

Live Your Dream Award recipients may use the cash award to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education, such as books, childcare, tuition and transportation. They must be enrolled in, or have been accepted to, a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program and must demonstrate financial need.

Women are economically empowered when they have control over their own finances and well-being, and when they have a voice in the financial decisions to shape their lives and the lives of their families. When women and girls are empowered, they have a sense of autonomy, self-confidence, and the power to control their private and public lives. We focus on access to education because we believe it’s the most effective way toward empowerment.
